HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg firefighters responded to a fully-involved house fire in the 400 block of Miller Street Tuesday around 9:00 p.m.

No injuries were reported in the single-story structure fire that officials stated occurred at an abandoned residence. Crews on scene attempted to make an interior attack to knock down the flames, but pulled back and battled from the outside. Units responded from multiple stations to assist in battling the fire.

“Hattiesburg fire department was dispatched to a house fire at the 400 block of Miller Street, upon arrival fire units found that the structure was fully-involved, it appeared to be an abandoned residence, a quick exterior attack was made, the fire was brought under control,” said Hattiesburg Fire Capt. Matt Saucier.

Hattiesburg fire officials stated the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
