16th Annual Downtown Crawfish Jam - WDAM-TV

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood hosted the 16th Annual Downtown Crawfish Jam Saturday.

Hundreds of residents came out to Walthall Park and enjoyed a day of great music, hot dogs, hamburgers, and thousands of pounds of crawfish. The event featured a lineup of musical acts including several bands that will be performing at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. All of the fun in the sun was also for a good cause.

"We raise money for the neighborhood, and we reinvest that money back into the upkeep of this property, which is a historic property, and the upkeep of the neighborhood as well, but we also donate a portion of the proceeds from this event every year to a charity," said Downtown Historic Neighborhood President, Andrea Saffle.

This year a portion of those proceeds will go to the USM Counseling program as well as money from cash boxes to benefit Southbound Bagel owner, Chris Hackbarth.
