HATTIESBURG, Mississippi — Eight people have been arrested on charges related to a fatal shooting Saturday night in Hattiesburg.

Police say Nathaniel Alexander of Hattiesburg was visiting a residence Saturday when he was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting. Alexander died at a local hospital.

Municipal Judge Jerry Evans set bond Wednesday at $1 million for Brandon McNair on a murder charge and $50,000 bond on a felony charge of conspiracy to commit street gang activity.

Six others have been charged each with conspiracy to commit a felony and conspiracy to commit street gang activity. Bond was set at $100,000 each. They are Michael May, Anthony Crosby, Jamarcus Pettigrew, Ladayle Strickland, Kadarius Nichols and William Myers.

Police say Alice Poole is charged with hindering prosecution and is being held on $10,000 bond.
