HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The fourth annual Caerus Hattiesburg Mardi Gras parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7.

The route will be the same as last year, starting on Frontage Road off Highway 49, near Conestoga Steak House Restaurant. It will end at the intersection of Fourth and Thirty-Eighth Avenues.

This year's theme is “Fairytale” and seventy floats are already signed up with more expected to do so.

In addition to the parade there will also be a masquerade ball.

“We needed a big Mardi Gras ball here in Hattiesburg and the event will be held at the Lake Terrace Convention Center on Thursday, February the twelfth from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.” said Keith's Superstore Director of Marketing Melissa Davis. “It is open to the public and folks can get tickets at caerusmardigras.com. They can also call 601-270-1476 if they have any questions.”

The committee is excited to hopefully start another new Mardi Gras tradition.

“We are extremely excited. We are ready to continue to let the good times roll here in Hattiesburg,” said Mardi Gras Ball Assistant Narissa Behrens. “What better way to do it than have a ball?”

Road closures for the parade will start at 6:30 a.m., the day the parade rolls.
