Longtime Hattiesburg Chief Financial Officer retires - WDAM-TV

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Longtime Hattiesburg Chief Financial Officer Connie Everett stepped down from her position effective June 30th.

Everett confirmed she has verbally told Mayor Johnny DuPree that she is retiring. Everett has served as the Chief Financial Advisor for the mayor and city council for a number of years.

For the last several months, she served as city clerk since Eddie Myers retired.

Everett gave no reason for stepping down except to say she has enough years in the retirement system to retire.

Mayor DuPree has nominated Jackson's assistant city clerk Kristi Martin Moore to replace Myers as permanent clerk, but the city council voted not to approve her.
