Inmate captured in Hattiesburg - Mississippi News Now


HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - A 33-year-old inmate who walked away from a community work center in Pearl has been arrested in Hattiesburg.


Mississippi corrections officials say Jessica Peavy went missing from the center about 5:09 p.m. Wednesday. She was arrested by Hattiesburg police about 8:25 p.m.


Officials say Peavy was serving a sentence for burglary from Forrest County.


Officials say Peavy will be taken to the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl. She now faces an additional 5 year sentence if convicted of escape.
