(CNN) - It's a first for a major restaurant chain. Chipotle says it is now GMO free.

That means none of the ingredients will be genetically modified for its tortillas, rice, chips and salsa - and also in the marinades used to cook its meats.

All of Chipotle's restaurants are now using non-GMO corn, which goes into many ingredients, and the cooking oil has been switched from soybean oil to GMO-free sunflower oil and rice bran oil.

In 2013, Chipotle was the first restaurant chain to reveal which menu items contained GMOs.

Its pork and chicken still come from animals that eat GMO feed. The beef comes from pasture-raised cattle.
