Major Spice bust in Hub City - WDAM-TV

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Metro Narcotics Task Force in collaboration with DEA-HIDTA Task Force executed a high-risk no knock search warrant in Hattiesburg Monday afternoon.

Roy Smith and Eddrick Cyrus  were taken into custody at 713 Dabbs Street after agents executed the search warrant just before 4 p.m.

The two men are will be charged with possession of spice over a kilo with intent to distribute, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and possession of cocaine. According to agents on scene, other charges could be added as the investigation continues.

Agents deemed this a "major bust" for the Hub City.

"With spice becoming a growing problem around the state we are working to do our part to take dealers off the street," said Metro Narcotics Sgt. Joe Kennedy.

During the search warrant, heroin, brown-heroin, black-tar heroin, counterfeit money, cocaine, weapons, spice, cooking materials to manufacture narcotics, as well as needles, blenders and other items for distribution were found. 

The two men were transported to the Forrest County Jail and booked in.
