HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - A 37-year-old Hattiesburg man is scheduled for arraignment Friday in Forrest County Circuit Court on a first-degree murder charge in a deadly August 2013 shooting.
The Hattiesburg American reports (http://hatne.ws/10mbQJo ) Dwayne Bryant was indicted last month by a Forrest County grand jury in the death of 32-year-old Adrian Walker.
Bryant originally was charged with aggravated assault after he had turned himself in to Hattiesburg police following an early-morning shooting on Aug. 1, 2013, at an apartment complex.
Police spokesman Lt. Jon Traxler said an altercation led to the shooting that sent Walker to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
Walker died a month later.
Bryant was taken into custody and booked into jail Monday by Forrest County deputies.
It was unclear whether he has an attorney.
