Hattiesburg pastor appointed NHCLC Mississippi Chapter Director - WDAM-TV

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

America's largest Hispanic evangelical association has appointed a Hattiesburg pastor as Chapter Director of Mississippi.

Pastor David Martinez of Iglesia Vida will now be working with and helping Hispanics on a statewide level.

The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference represents 40,118 churches and more than 14-million Hispanics. The vice president of the association was in town Monday and said they are thrilled to include Mississippi in that number now.

“When we looked at Mississippi we were looking for a leader that was Hispanic, that spoke both English and Spanish and was a true leader in this organization and in the community and we found that in Reverend Martinez,” said Vice President of NHCLC Anthony Suarez.

“We are here to make a difference, not in a bad way but in a positive way and we're excited that this is a new endeavor in the state of Mississippi,” said Iglesia Vida Pastor David Martinez. “I look forward to great things that are going to transpire through the course of the next several months and Lord willing through the next several years.”

There's only one NHCLC Chapter Director in each state, Martinez will now be the voice for Hispanics all over Mississippi.
